The internet is a great place to learn tips and tricks that we otherwise wouldn't have access to. I myself have been spending a ton of time watching a ton of DIY tutorials when it comes to home decor and renovation. I especially love the ones where you are able to upcycle things that you already have or have found in the thrift store.
That being said, I haven't been able to go to the thrift store lately due to lockdown and I've been trying my best to just be crafty with what I already have. I've been amassing a huge stockpile of bottles from a few alcoholic beverages, and I was looking for ways that I could upcycle them in order to give them a new life, and also maybe cover up some of the brandings that I can't otherwise get rid of.
I was ultimately given a solution by TikTok, where a simple hack of adding baking powder to paint, gives glass a ceramic texture.
I was pretty sold on the looks of these pieces, and the great thing is that you can do it with any color that you want. Although the trend is called "trash terracotta," you don't have to make your glass pieces that terracotta orange color unless that is your real vibe.
I'm definitely going to be trying out this trash terracotta soon in the future, once I am able to go out and get all the supplies needed. I want to make sure that I have a proper stockpile of glass pieces that I can flip using this method as well so that I can try out a few variations and ways of painting them since I've seen different people do different things.
